Pour la protection des coraux

À la suite d’un dépérissement massif survenu en 2009, de nombreux coraux des lagons de l’île Maurice sont morts. À Anse La Raie, au nord du pays, 60 % de la population corallienne a ainsi été décimée. L’ONG Reef Conservation, soutenue par Total Mauritius, a réalisé un important état des lieux ainsi que différentes études. Au sein de la zone de conservation marine (VMCA) d’Anse La Raie, elle a également créé une zone d’élevage de coraux en vue de réaliser des transplantations et de contribuer à reconstruire le récif corallien.
