Total's other commitment to education
The first graduating class in the Petroleum Engineering Master’s program at the Port-Gentil Oil and Gas Institute (IPG)*, in Gabon, came out at the end of June 2015. This program is designed for chemical, mechanical, civil and hydraulic engineers, as well as, engineers in equivalent fields. Since 2011, a preparatory program in production operations, leading to an Operator’s Certificate, has been available to those with a secondary school diploma (baccalauréat) in a scientific or technical discipline.
* Founded in March 2010 by the Gabon government, IPG is the result of an excellent public-private cooperation; Total Gabon, Shell Gabon and Perenco all sit on the IPG board of directors.
